Effortlessly chic and totally wearable, Rebecca’s breezy spring collection was like a breath of fresh air — and all of her celeb pals came out to watch the looks come down the runway!
Spring, once again, proves to be the season that designer Rebecca Minkoff really shines. While the fact that she had a killer live performance from Brooklyn-based band, Little Daylight, a star-studded front row, and even a 3D element tied into the end of the show, it was the clothes on the runway that left a lasting impact when she debuted her collection during New York Fashion Week on Sept. 5 at Lincoln Center. Chic, wearable separates and covetable accessories defined the collection, which was inspired by iconic photog Deborah Turbeville.
Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring 2015 Collection Debuts During New York Fashion Week:
Her Spring 2015 collection proved to be romantic yet strong — and the juxtaposition of the effortless silhouettes, combined with bold patterns, (like colorful 3D prints and more traditional Cambridge stripes), was so in tune with the designer’s aesthetic — not to mention the fact that any stylish girl would want practically every piece hanging in her closet come next season.
The color palette consisted of pretty pastels and lots of oxford blue, while wide-brimmed floppy straw hats partially covered most of the models faces, giving them an intriguing element of mystery. From the lace detailing to the addition of ruffles and strong prints, the separates can easily be taken from day to night, depending on the gal who suits up in one of the outfits.
While most shows are strictly about the clothes, Rebecca’s accessories always shine — and her Spring 2015 collection was no exception! Fringe hung from bags as models sauntered down the runway.
Rebecca Minkoff’s Front Row Faces:
While there was a strong cohesive nature woven throughout the collection, it will be fun to see how the designer’s celeb fans put their own twist on the looks — and it’s only a matter of time before all the cool gals that make up the young Hollywood bunch star showing off the collection! For example, skirts that hit below the knee would look great on someone like Taylor Swift, who would probably rock the silhouette with a low-heeled oxford and a bold red lip, while I could easily see Jessica Alba in the very same outfit, only paired with a flat sandal and a bare face for a more daytime approach.
The front row was just as crowded as a red carpet, with everyone from Zosia Mamet to Victoria Justice, Olivia Palermo, AnnaSophia Robb, and Coco Rocha present to watch the collection come down the runway and support the designer.
There’s no denying the fact that Rebecca knows how to throw a fun fashion show, but her ability to keep her finger on the pulse of what the cool, modern girl wants hanging in her closest is a testament to her talent as a designer — and we can’t wait to see what she’ll send down the runway next!
What do you think? Did you love Rebecca’s Spring 2015 collection as much as I did?
