Melissa Rivers Statement: Joan Rivers ‘Resting Comfortably’ In Hospital
In a statement to the Associated Press, Melissa kept the update on her legendary mom’s condition very brief, but stated that Joan is “resting comfortably” in the hospital.
“We ask that you continue to keep her [Joan] in your thoughts and prayers,” Melissa added in the statement, according to the AP. She also thanked everyone for the “overwhelming love and support for my mother.”
It was definitely a huge shocker for friends and family to find out Joan had been hospitalized. Her celeb friends and fans are wishing her well.
The hilarious and clever comedienne has been very busy lately. She recently talked about all the best and worst fashions at the 2014 Emmys and VMAs on the Aug. 26 episode of Fashion Police. Joan’s also been promoting her new book, Diary of a Mad Diva, and a source told People that she was “energetic” at a recent promotional event for the book.
“Joan was energetic and boisterous,” a source told the outlet of Joan’s appearance at the event. “She looked amazing [and] was high-energy.” Just as you’d expect, Joan “had everyone laughing, and it didn’t stop for an hour.”

HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY that if a life-and-death decision needs to be made, Melissa will make the call. “If any decisions have to be made on pulling the plug they will not be made until Melissa get all the facts and is at the hospital,” our source revealed on Aug. 28.
