On ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians,’ one major theme is that family is number one. However, when Kendall dropped her last name for her modeling portfolio, it made it sound like she was putting her career in front of her family!
Bruce Jenner is an Olympic champion and Kris Jenner is a proud momager and business owner. However, when Kendall Jenner, 18, dropped her name for her portfolio , it really was saying she didn’t want to be associated with her family and their successes!
Kendall Jenner’s Last Name Dropped
In Kendall’s portfolio over at The Society Management, she decided to drop her last name and just go by “Kendall.” I get it — she wants to create her own career and prove that she’s not only getting jobs because of her famous family.
However, when you land iconic modeling shoots — like the cover of the year’s biggest issue of Vogue — your career is speaking for itself. You don’t need to diss your family. We all see that you can model and are making your career stand on its own!
She has admitted that her name has not exactly helped her get jobs, but has hindered her. However, I can’t see that being true. We’ve seen her stun in a ton of shoots, including DuJour, Teen Vogue and Love magazine. She even walked the runway this year for Chanel!
Those aren’t small successes!
Family is so important, especially for the Kardashian-Jenner clan who are shown as a united family every week! Being an individual is of course important, but dropping your last name comes off as though you’re embarrassed of your family — and if that’s the case, that’s a whole different story.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Kendall should keep her last name? Or should she drop it and just be known as “Kendall?” Let me know!
