Kendall Jenner has dropped her mega-famous last name for the sake of her modeling career — someone’s all grown up and making big decisions.
Kendall Jenner, 18, has been booking more and more serious modeling gigs — most notably a recent shoot for Vogue‘s biggest issue of the year — and in keeping with her passion for her budding career, Kendall is dropping her famous last name!
Kendall Jenner Drops Last Name For Modeling Job — Star Is Just Kendall Now
We first saw that Kendall had dropped her last name on her profile page for The Society Management, her agency. It seems like she’s looking to be a household name for more than her famous family and to set herself apart from the pack.
She definitely keeps her modeling career separate from her reality TV family. She has landed huge fashion opportunities, like a spread in the largest fashion magazine (and largest issue):Vogue‘s September issue. In it, she’s a high-end model — not a celebrity or reality star.
Kendall Jenner: ‘People Didn’t Want To Take A Chance On Me’
Like Twiggy, Cindy, Iman, Naomi, and more before her, by dropping her last name, Kendall is showing that her modeling career is the most important thing to her. She’s definitely well on her way to becoming a huge success in the field, Jenner or no!
Besides that, Kendall has said that being a Jenner has not necessarily opened up any doors for her in the modeling world — “People didn’t want to take a chance on me, I think because I was sort of known,” she revealed to Teen Vogue for her September cover shoot.
“They were a little bit on the fence about it. Some people might think that what I’ve done before made it easier for me to get jobs, but it was actually a disadvantage. I had to work even harder.”
What do you think about Kendall’s name change, HollywoodLifers? Is it a risk to separate from her famous family or is it a courageous, right move to stand on her own? Let us know.
