Robin Williams will be honored at the 2014 Emmys, which fall just two weeks after he tragically died.
“Robin Williams will be honored on the show and we will all hear from people for the first time about his death during the telecast,” including Billy Crystal who is leading the tribute during the In Memoriam segment, HollywoodLife.com exclusively reported. “It is going to be a very big tribute.”
Billy who costarred with Robin in the 1997 movie Father’s Day is humbled to honor his dear friend, after his sad suicide.
“Billy is prepared for this moment for his friend,” a source close to Billy EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com. “He is humbled to have been chosen and has gone through all emotions to be ready.”
Billy Crystal Emotionally Ready To Honor Robin, But May Cry At Emmys
“[Billy] wants Robin to be remebered forever and has prepared something he is really proud of for the Emmy telecast,” our source continues. “He is going to do his best not to cry but that is in no way a promise. Its going to be an incredible moment in honoring his friend.”
The insider adds, Billy is not aware if Robin’s family will be in attendance at the Emmys.
On the day of Robin’s death, Billy tweeted “no words,” but has not spoken out on his death since.
