Sometimes, there are no words to describe a loss of this magnitude, so instead of giving a speech about Robin, VMAs showrunners chose to honor the Oscar winner by displaying eight amazing pictures of him.
The photos were aptly accompanied by the emotional Coldplay song “Sky Full of Stars,” which features lyrics like: “Cause you’re a sky, you’re a sky full of stars/ Such a heavenly view/ You’re such a heavenly view.”
Robin truly was a light in the darkness, and we hope that he’s looking down on this heartfelt tribute from a better place.
Billy Crystal To Honor Robin Williams At 2014 Emmy Awards
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Robin’s longtime friend Billy Crystal has been chosen to pay a very special tribute to him at the Emmy Awards tomorrow, Aug. 25.
“Robin Williams will be honored on the show and we will all hear from people for the first time about his death during the telecast,” a source revealed to HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “It is going to be a very big tribute.”
Robin’s family has been invited to the show but they have yet to confirm their attendance.
“They most likely aren’t going to join Billy Crystal on stage and have not decided if they want to attend,” another source close to Robin’s family told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “They want the night to be about Robin and his memory and they are under the impression that if they are there, it may take a way from what Billy and the show has lined up for the tribute.”
Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Robin’s loved ones during this difficult time.
