War Machine (aka Jon Koppenhaver) was found in Simi Valley, California, on August 15 after going on the run for allegedly beating ex-girlfriend, Christy Mack, 23, so severely that she believed she was going to die. Now that he is safely in a Clark County, Nevada, jail, new details have emerged of the brutal attack that Christy suffered on August 8.
Christy (born Christine Mackinday) spoke to Las Vegas police and to an investigator within the sexual crimes unit following her attack, reports Deadspin.
As she revealed to Las Vegas police, Christy was in bed with Corey Thomas when War Machine entered her home using his copy of her keys. Corey was punched in the face approximately 15 times as Christy pleaded with War Machine to stop before the 32-year-old MMA fighter rounded on Christy.
“Koppenhaver told Thomas to leave and told Thomas that he would kill him if he reported this and Koppenhaver went to jail,” say the police docs. “Koppenhaver said he would give his friends all of Thomas’s information and his friends would find Thomas and kill him if anything happened to Koppenhaver.”
Christy was struck so many times, allegedly by War Machine, that she lost consciousness and cannot even recall some of what he did to her. At one point, he forced her into the shower and kicked her in the ribs. In possession of her phone, he scrolled through her Twitter and Instagram feeds and punched her whenever he saw something that he did not like.
“That’s my p***y and I’m gonna take it back now,” War Machine allegedly said. He told her that he was going to rape her, but when he couldn’t perform, he was not happy about it.
It was only when War Machine left for the kitchen — apparently in search of a larger knife — that Christy was able to escape with her life.
Jon Koppenhaver has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, coercion, open or gross lewdness, and four different counts of battery. As of this writing, he is being held without bond in the Ventura County jail.
Here is the police report in its entirety, but be warned that some of the details are incredibly disturbing:
