Tony Stewart hasn’t been seen since the tragic accident that killed Kevin Ward Jr., but that doesn’t mean he isn’t totally torn up over the death of the young driver, and now we have insight on his feelings about the tragedy.
Now we know how NASCAR driver Tony Stewart, 43, is feeling after he accidentally struck and killed Kevin Ward Jr., 20, on Aug. 9 at Canandaigua Motorsports Park. The driver is “dealing with quite a bit of grief” over the loss of the young driver. This is such a sad situation for all involved.

“It’s been an emotional week for him [Tony],’’ Brett Frood, executive vice president at Stewart-Haas Racing, said during a news conference on Aug. 15 at Michigan International Speedway, according to the Boston Globe.
“He’s [Tony] grieving,’’ Brett said. “Any time someone is lost, especially at a racetrack, it’s tragic. It was a tragic accident, and he’s dealing with quite a bit of grief.’’
NASCAR champion Tony Stewart, 43, accidentally killed Kevin after the driver stepped out of his car and onto the track. A graphic video showed the entire accident happen right before fans’ eyes. Tony has since dropped out of races and gone into hiding.
Tony sent a heartfelt statement to Kevin’s family one day after the accident. He offered his prayers and sincere condolences to the grieving family.
Members of Kevin’s family paid tribute to him by wearing his team T-shirts one day after his death. Kevin’s funeral was held on Aug. 14 and his family wore black and orange to honor the fallen driver.
The first graphic video of the accident shows Tony’s car hitting Kevin and dragging him a number of yards away. Tony’s car continued on, leaving Kevin’s body on the track. Medical personnel rushed to his side.
Now, authorities have reportedly obtained a second video of the accident. The footage from this video allegedly features Tony’s car accelerating as the car came closer to Kevin, Daily Mail reports. The impact pulled Kevin under the car and threw Kevin in the air, the outlet claims.
Kevin was taken to a local hospital after the accident, where he was pronounced dead. The 20-year-old died of massive blunt trauma to the head, the autopsy said, according to SB Nation.
After the accident, Tony’s private plane was allegedly seen gathering his luggage in Tony’s hometown before it jetted off to an undisclosed location, Daily Mail reports.
