The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has swept the nation, especially Hollywood. Many of our favorite celebrities like Justin Timberlake, 33, Adam Levine, 35, the cast of Grey’s Anatomy and more have all gotten soaked for a good cause. The challenge has also grabbed the attention of some of the world’s best technological minds, including Bill Gates, 58. Watch the Microsoft co-founder get iced in the name of ALS!
Only Bill would take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and put a scientific twist on the dare. After accepting the challenge from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, 30, Bill decided not to do the challenge like everyone else.
While most people and celebs have just poured a simple bucket of ice water over their heads, Bill created an interesting apparatus that allowed him to simply pull a rope to douse himself with the ice water. Nice, Bill!
This is definitely one of the most memorable ALS Ice Bucket Challenges we’ve seen yet. You can always count on Bill to switch things up!
In return, Bill nominated Elon Musk, Ryan Seacrest and Chris Anderson from TED to take the ALS challenge.
The cold must of not bothered Bill anyway!
ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. To raise awareness for the disease, Massachusetts resident Pete Frates, 29, decided to create the Ice Bucket Challenge to strike out ALS. Participants can either accept the challenge or donate.
The Ice Bucket Challenge has gone insanely viral and has garnered support from all over the country. If you want to help support this cause click here.
