Michael Cera’s Album ‘True That’ — Actor Releases A Surprise Folk Album
In this new album, Michael doesn’t sing a ton. But when he does, it’s folky, soothing and simply wonderful. The album includes songs titled “Sexy Danger” and “uhohtrouble,” which are exactly the things that come to mind when one thinks about Michael Cera.
Michael gave his new music a “home recording” tag, so it’s safe to say he made the songs on his own without going into a fancy recording studio. The outcome of his “home” work is simply divine!
Michael reportedly posted the new music in secret about a week ago, but it came to public attention on Aug. 12 when Michael’s friend Jonah Hill, 30, tweeted about it. Jonah posted:
“My great friend Michael Cera not only is a brilliant actor, he also makes great music. Check it out”
It looks like Michael made this album between acting projects. Michael’s next movie, Entertainment, will reportedly be released sometime in 2015.

Michael Cera: Is He ‘Beyonce’s New Rival?’
Michael Cera’s newest album has officially been called “Beyonce without the lyrics.” How hilarious! In a review on The Daily Beast, Michael’s album is compared to Queen Bey’s Beyonce album. “In ‘What Gives’ Cera samples what appears to be a child’s voice, which is a blatant attempt to rival Blue Ivy’s vocal stylings on ‘Blue,'” the writer explains.
We think Michael’s new album is the perfect mix of folk and quirk.
