So sad. Celine Dion announced on Aug. 13 that she’s postponing her Las Vegas residency and canceling her Asia tour indefinitely so she can focus on caring for her sick husband, René Angélil.
Celine Dion, 46, is such a loving wife! The legendary songstress is making Rene Angelil, 72, her top priority after her longtime manager and husband of nearly 20 years had a cancerous tumor removed in December.
Celine Dion Cancels Shows To Take Care Of Cancer-Stricken Husband
Celine and Rene are both in recovery. He had a cancerous tumor removed from his throat in December, and Celine has been battling a condition that caused inflammation in her throat muscles, which has prevented her from performing live since July 29, according to E! News.
Celine announced in a statement on her official website:
“I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children.”
Celine and Rene have three children together, René-Charles, 13, and twins Eddy and Nelson, 3.
Celine Dion: My Family Is My ‘Biggest Reward’
Celine’s decision to indefinitely postpone her shows, though sad, is not particularly surprising. She’s always made is clear that her family is the most important thing in her life.
“I’m passionate about my fans and my shows,” Celine recently told Vegas magazine. “But my biggest reward in the success that is my life are my husband and kids.”
So HollywoodLifers, are YOU sad that Celine is canceling her shows? Do you think she’s doing the right thing for herself and her family? Let us know.
