For Zelda, Cody and Zachary Williams, these past two days must have been the worst of their lives. But while nothing can bring their beloved dad back, hopefully they can draw some comfort from the unparalleled outpouring of love and respect for their father.
The three most important people in Robin Williams‘ life were clearly his precious children — Zachary Pym Williams, 31, Zelda Rae Williams, 25, and Cody Alan Williams, 22.
Robin Williams’ Kids: Take Comfort In The Outpouring Of Love For Your Dad
Even though Robin had reportedly been suffering from “deep, dark depression” for the last several months of his life, that didn’t stop him from taking time to show public love for his “babies.”

His very last Instagram post was a sweet #tbt and happy birthday message for his daughter, “Ms. Zelda Rae Williams!” He wrote, “Quarter of a century old today but always my baby girl. Happy Birthday @Zeldawilliams love you!”
Robin also took to Instagram seventeen weeks ago to wish his eldest, Zak, a happy birthday. “You’re a grown man now and I’m so proud of you. A little bit of you will always be my “Mr Pym.” Happy Birthday, @zakpym!”
One of the most terrible things about depression is that it makes doing even the simplest tasks, including getting out of bed, feel next to impossible. The sense of hopelessness is overwhelming. And yet Robin Williams carried on, showing his children that he loved them to the end. My guess is that he showed that love so well that they never even suspected how desperate he had become.
He must have made his children feel so loved, that they grew into happy young adults with full lives. Zak stays out of the public eye, but his sister, Zelda, is an athletic young actress whose busy life is celebrated in her Instagram photos full of friends and adorable selfies. Her younger brother, Cody Alan, is an assistant director, whom Robin occasionally talked about proudly in the media.
All of Hollywood is truly mourning Robin. He was universally loved and respected. From Ben Affleck and Matt Damon — who wrote Good Will Hunting, for which Robin won an Oscar — to Cher, there have been nothing but accolades.
Ben wrote on his Facebook page that he owes “everything” to Robin. Here’s Ben’s message:
Heartbroken. Thanks chief – for your friendship and for what you gave the world. Robin had a ton of love in him. He personally did so much for so many people. He made Matt and my dreams come true. What do you owe a guy who does that? Everything. May you find peace my friend. #RobinWilliams
Cher said what so many who knew Robin have expressed: “He was a sweet LOVELY, Man.”
He was Sweet LOVELY,Man. He ran high voltage,Mind Always Going, It was who he was.I Know Well..Many X’s from High There is Only Low.So Sad😥

Robin may have been a comedic genius and an incredibly talented actor, but all who knew him and worked with him said that even more importantly, he was a warm, kind and loving human being.
He was a “mensch, great talent, acting partner, genuine soul,” according to fellow comedian Steve Martin.
He was generous, according to Jessica Chastain, who shared that:
Robin Williams changed my life. He was a great actor and a generous person. Through a scholarship, he made it possible for me to graduate college. His generous spirit will forever inspire me to support others as he supported me. He will forever be missed.
Robin Williams Always Jumped At The Chance To Help Children
Robin used his time, money and fame to raise money for more than 50 charities over the years. Robin, no doubt inspired by his love for his own children, actively fund raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which has been at the forefront of fighting children’s cancers.
“Whenever he had an opportunity to meet patients and families, he would do it,” revealed Kelly Schulz, vice president of communications at St. Jude.
Inspired by his friendship with the late actor Christopher Reeve, Robin joined the board of The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, which raises money for spinal cord injury research.
It’s a very dark time now for Robin’s children, but hopefully as his friends, colleagues and admirers reach out to them, Zelda, Cody and Zak can find comfort in their words and companionship. Many of their father’s friends will want to remain close to his kids and will want to involve them in some of his past endeavors, to help carry on his legacy.
Hopefully they can find strength in his legacy as the days, weeks and months go on. Robin, their dad, may be gone, but the love for him from fans, friends and the Hollywood world will go on. Take comfort in it, Zelda, Cody and Zak. And always keep him alive in your hearts.
