Malala — The Heroic Story Of This Young Girl
In case you don’t know too much about Malala, let us fill you in. When she was 15-years-old, she was shot in the head by the Taliban, on her way to school, for speaking out about the oppression of women by the terrorist organization in her country of Pakistan.
It all began when she was just 12, and she began writing annoymously for the BBC about the fear she and her neighbors lived in under the horrific rule of the Taliban. Once she was awarded with Pakistan’s first National Youth Peace Prize in 2011, her identity became known and she was subsequently featured in a New York Times documentary. That’s when she began a target to the Taliban.
While she was riding the school bus, Oct. 9, 2012, she was shot in the head. Luckily she survived and she and her family were immediately moved to England. Since then, she has created the Malala Fund, in order to bring awareness to the education of young women. Several celebrities have gotten involved with her cause, including Angelina Jolie and Reese Witherspoon.
HollywoodLifers, isn’t it cool to see Justin helping Malala?
