Nicole Murphy, 46, and Michael Strahan, 42, announced their breakup on August 1, just one day before he was to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame. However, the timing was just a coincidence, according to TMZ — their engagement ended exactly when Nicole was able to confirm that Michael had been cheating on her, according to a new report from TMZ.
Nicole and Michael had been engaged since 2009, but it was only this past July when Nicole suspected that Michael might be cheating, TMZ reports.
She decided to go public when she did not because out of revenge, but because that’s when she learned of Michael’s alleged cheating. Once she “confirmed” it, she allegedly didn’t want to wait another second before ending the relationship.
However, this conflicts with TMZ’s earlier report that the couple had been broken up for weeks prior to the announcement and that, as Nicole’s rep told People, “with the distance and work schedule it has been hard to maintain the relationship.”
If it were true that they loved each other very much, it seems suspect that she would have chosen to go public with the news of their broken engagement just one day before Michael was to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame for his 15-year tenure with the New York Giants.
“Their bi-coastal relationship [had] been on and off for almost 2 years,” says TMZ, and so Michael may have pursued an affair during one of their “off” periods. If that is the case, Nicole clearly didn’t share his perspective.
Nicole and Michael began dating in 2007 — such a shame that their 7-year relationship has ended, however it ended!
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did their relationship really end over an affair? Or was it the distance? Let us know.
