During the Aug. 4 premiere of ‘Bachelor in Paradise,’ I couldn’t help but notice that the reception was a little negative. However, I’m confused as to what people thought they would see when 14 castoffs from ‘The Bachelor’ and ‘The Bachelorette’
drink and party try to find love on an island in Mexico!
I’ll be the first to say it: the premise of Bachelor in Paradise is a little bit confusing and awkward. However, instead of bashing the franchise that made you famous, Nikki Ferrell, how about admitting that it is a lot of fun to watch. This show is the perfect guilty pleasure to enjoy this summer.
‘Bachelor In Paradise’ — Summer Show To Watch
I understand the negativity following the premiere of Bachelor in Paradise as the original shows with similar premises also get backlash. However, I think it’s important for people to remember what this is — it’s a party!
It’s the opportunity for 14 super hot men and women to go to Tulum, Mexico and take the chance at falling at love. Yes, it’s dramatic — filled with fighting, tears and of course, hooking up. Yes, it’s cheesy — I mean, Chris Harrison is sending them on cave-diving and vista dates when they don’t know what vistas are (sorry, Clare Crawley). So if you don’t enjoy the drama, you can at least enjoy the ridiculous date locations that, regardless if you want to admit, are pretty cool and we’re all pretty jealous about.
For those who are annoyed by the above, I’m curious as to what exactly they expected. The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are both just as insane, except this time, they’re all taking turns dating each other. In the preview, we even see two women kissing — not something we’re used to at all.
Romance, fancy dates, drama, tears, and a lot of alcohol — all between the craziest alum of the original shows. If you want to see any of those, it’s the perfect getaway for the summer. Do you agree, HollywoodLifers? Is Bachelor in Paradise the perfect summer show to watch as a guilty pleasure? Or am I on my own here? Let me know!
