Once I caught my breath after watching the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ trailer, I watched it a few more times, and realized that, of course, not everything’s perfect, but one thing is — Ana and Christian’s sexy chemistry. Dare I say, it’s much better than Edward and Bella’s was!
The official Fifty Shades of Grey trailer may just be the sexiest example of on-screen chemistry in a long time, and Jamie Dornan isn’t even dating Dakota Johnson in real life. I must say, I’m on board with Christian and Ana’s budding romance. (Not on the headboard like she is, though.)
Christian Grey & Anastasia Steele’s Chemistry
Let me start out by saying that yes, I have read the books and yes, I was a fan of Charlie Hunnam playing the iconic role of Christian Grey. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the palpable chemistry between Jamie and Dakota as Christian and Ana.
The first time we see them kiss is in an elevator, and the chemistry starts before the doors even close. The way that they kiss — the urgency and intensity — jumps off the screen, and for two actors who haven’t really starred in leading roles, I give them major props.
As we see a tiny bit at the end of the trailer, the Red Room of Pain will be anything but painful to watch, and will definitely be intense. Dakota, more than anything, shines in this scene with her NSFW moan at the end of the trailer.
Christian & Ana Are So Much Sexier Than Edwards & Bella
Alright, so it’s no secret that E.L. James wrote the book as a Twilight fan fiction, but the similarities are uncanny. There is one scene of Ana and Christian walking through the woods with the light shining through and it seriously looks like the Cullens all grown up, walking in Forks!
The other oddly familiar part in my mind was the line where Christian tells Ana, “I’m incapable of leaving you alone,” to which she responds, “Then don’t.”
Let me just refresh your memory! I n the first Twilight film, Edward tells Bella, “I don’t have the strength to stay away from you anymore.” Her answer is, “Then don’t.”
Overall, I’d say that Ana and Christian look even more magnetically drawn to each other than Edward and Bella did, which is odd since those actors were actually beginning a real-life romance. However, the intensity is much more incredible in Fifty Shades of Grey.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Jamie and Dakota’s chemistry is amazing? Do you think it’s better than Rob and Kristen’s in Twilight? Let me know!
