Save the date (and set your DVR) for the cartoon funeral of the television season. The Simpsons producer Al Jean teased a major death, and all signs point to Krusty the Clown being killed off on the Season 26 premiere! Could it really be? Read on for more details!
‘The Simpsons’: Krusty The Clown Dead Next Season?
For months, fans have been speculating which character will be killed off The Simpsons this upcoming season, and it appears that we’ve finally learned of the looming death: Krusty the Clown might be a goner.
Simpsons executive producer Al Jean not only announced that the Season 26 premiere episode (September 28, Fox) will be titled “Clown In The Dumps,” but he also delivered the tease of all teases on a panel at the Television Critics Association press tour: “I didn’t say I was killing Krusty…I didn’t say I wasn’t.”
Al didn’t entirely confirm Springfield’s clown doom, but he did drop another hint. The actor who voices the unnamed character to-be-killed has won an Emmy. And guess what? Dan Castellaneta — who voices Krusty (and Homer Simpson) — has won an Emmy. In all fairness, multiple voice actors have been awarded for their work on the show.
With the confirmation of a character’s death, the aptly-named premiere episode and Al’s wishy-washy statement, all signs are pointing to Krusty’s last laugh.
