The feisty star is ‘Marie Claire’ magazine’s latest cover girl, and inside the galactic star gushes about her husband and shares the relationship lessons she learned over the years — and how she left her famous former flames in the past!
Hollywood’s go-to intergalactic heroine, Zoe Saldana, will not only be starring this month in another extraterrestrial movie, Guardians of the Galaxy, but will be gracing the cover of Marie Claire in their August issue, which hits stands on July 22. The 36-year-old Star Trek star looked fabulous in all-denim-everything on the cover of the magazine’s Denim Issue, and revealed life lessons learned from her past and current relationships. A part-time superhero and part-time badass, the confident and sexy Zoe Saldana shows us just how all women should be.
Zoe Saldana On Her Exes:
With no surprise, it turns out that Hollywood’s intergalactic, butt-kicking superhero is just as fearless and feisty offscreen as she is onscreen — especially when it comes to relationships. “I don’t do the ABCs,” Zoe, who made her breakthrough debut in the film Center Stage as a gutsy and rebellious ballerina, spilled in Marie Claire’s August issue.
When asked what the biggest lesson she’s learned from her past relationships was, she immediately answered that it’s “not to settle.”
“If you’re not happy with a person, leave,” she said. “And wait until you find that one person who makes you feel good about yourself every single day and is not expecting you to change, but to grow.”
Having zero tolerance for any man that disrespects her, the actress stands her ground and is not afraid to remove herself from anyone who tries to walk over her. As a result, Zoe does not remain friends with her exes. “There’s a reason why you’re called an ex,” she explained. “I crossed you off my list. Moving on. You cross a line, you need to know that you’re going to walk this earth knowing that there’s an individual who has no respect for you.”
It is her willingness to take risks and her resolve to never settle for complacency that ultimately led her to true happiness. After ending an 11 year relationship with Keith Britton, and later her on-again, off-again relationship with Bradley Cooper (which lasted from 2011 to 2013), Zoe finally found her way to the love of her life, Marco Perego.
“I do what my heart says, what my heart feels. So from the moment I met my husband, we were together. We knew,” she gushed about her Marco, to whom she married in June 2013.
Her assured confidence and bold determination are strikingly admirable, and are qualities that not only make her the perfect woman, but clearly the perfect extraterrestrial butt-kicker.
