There’s no denying that RHOA star Phaedra Parks, 41, is going through a very tough time after her husband, Apollo Nida, 35, pleaded guilty to bank fraud and identity theft charges and is facing eight years behind bars. Knowing full well that Apollo has not always been faithful to her in the past, Phaedra has reportedly decided that they should have an open marriage for the duration of his sentence.
Phaedra certainly has a full plate right now. Between balancing her career and caring for her two young children, Ayden and Dylan, the busy mom has plenty to think about in the upcoming months before her husband of five years heads off to prison for nearly a decade.
But the RHOA star has already made up her mind about one major thing. After much consideration, Phaedra has decided that she wants to have an open marriage while Apollo is behind bars, according to a new report from Life & Style magazine.
“Phaedra is well aware that Apollo has not always been faithful, so she has decided to turn the tables on him and be a free bird herself,” an insider tells the mag. “When Apollo told Phaedra during the season six reunion, ‘Everybody cheats… I just hope [Phaedra] uses a condom,’ she really took those words to heart. Now she’s been getting to know other guys.”
We certainly don’t blame Phaedra for taking those words to heart! Once your husband admits to cheating on you in so many words, it’s got to be hard to believe in your marriage — especially if your husband is going away for such a long time.
We can’t say that we are completely surprised that the couple is opting for an open marriage. One of Phaedra and Apollo’s biggest storylines on RHOA is his flirtation with his castmate, and Phaedra’s arch nemesis, Kenya Moore, 43.
Kenya and Phaedra are still not on the friendliest of terms, but as HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Kenya actually sent out a message to Phaedra on Twitter, saying, “You can’t kick someone while they are down even if they fell trying to trip you. Offer them a hand instead.”
So what do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Should Apollo and Phaedra have an open marriage? Let us know!
