Sherri Shepherd On Leaving ‘The View’ & Her Divorce: She’s Overwhelmed & Hurting
The 47-year-old comic gave an elegant speech to audience members during a July 7 taping of The View, when she officially announced that she would not be returning to the table for another season. And while Sherri didn’t seem to have any hard feelings about her sudden departure from the show, we’re told she’s still very upset behind the scenes.
“She’s in a good space, but she’s hurting,” a source close to Sherri reveals EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “She’s trying to keep it all together for the sole sake of her son because she doesn’t want him to be affected by everything that she’s got going on right now in her life.”
“She trying to put on the bravest face she can for Jeffrey, but it’s tough,” our source adds. “It’s real tough.”
We really feel for Sherri but we also know that she‘s pretty tough too and she will definitely pull through this!
HollywoodLife.com reached out to Sherri’s manager, who assures us, “Sherri is in a great space. She is committed to her son, Jeffrey, and his needs. Despite the many things being thrown at her, she is getting through all with her head held high and a smile!”
Sherri Shepherd In The Midst Of Nuclear Divorce
Sherri’s departure from the acclaimed ABC talk show couldn’t have come at a worse time. She’s entangled in a nuclear divorce battle with her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Lamar Sally, and we’re told that things between them are “as terrible as they can possibly be.”
“Sherri’s a good woman,” another source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She’s one of those wives who will go the distance with you and fight with her soul to save her marriage. So you can just imagine how this nasty divorce is killing her softly.”
