Solange was infamously caught on tape kicking, punching and screaming in Jay Z’s face on May 5 at NYC’s The Standard Hotel. Now as ‘Lucky Magazine’s’ cover girl, she is finally talking about the brutal attack and how things stand with her sister and brother-in-law.
Solange Knowles is one strong woman. The singer posed for a series of smiley, 60s inspired pics, for Lucky Magazine’s August issue, but kept a resilient front when asked questions about her relationship with Beyonce and Jay Z. These are the first public words from Solange since her fight with Jay Z on May 5, after the Met Ball, which HollywoodLife.com revealed was largely in part due to Jay Z’s “too close” relationship with fashion designer Rachel Roy.
Solange Knowles’ First Words Since Elevator Fight With Jay Z
Solange doesn’t even flinch when asked by Lucky Magazine what caused the fight in which she beat up Jay as Beyonce silently looked on. She actually refers to it as “that thing” during her interview.
“What’s important is that my family and I are all good,” she said. “What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with.”
In case you are forgetting, the family released a joint statement on May 14, several days after the elevator footage had been leaked.
“We love each other and, above all, we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”
Solange, Beyonce, & Jay-Z’s New Orleans Lunch Date
The family were all spotted out to lunch in New Orleans, where Solange lives just a few days after the statement. They appeared all smiles as they played with Blue Ivy, her own son Daniel, as mama bear, Tina Knowles made an appearance.
Beyonce posted pics from the lunch to her Instagram account, attempting to tell the world that everything had been cleared up between Solange and her husband. It’s still unclear what caused the fight, although our source tells us that it was Solange defending and protecting her sister.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Solange should have said more about the infamous elevator fight?
