Two years later and the stunning acqua-green checkered dress returns! Our royal recycler, Kate Middleton, attends the Wimbledon Championships men’s singles final in this modest yet chic frock, which she first debuted during her Diamond Jubilee Tour in September 2012. We love the bright pops of color on Kate and are thrilled to see her bring back this high-end look — what about you?
The Duchess of Cambridge has proven time and time again that she can bring a well documented look back to life. Unlike many royals and celebrities, Kate Middleton does not believe in the “one-and-done” rule, and has turned recycling into a fashion statement, (as well as a challenge for others to follow in her footsteps!). The 33-year-old wife of Prince William arrived at Wimbledon on July 6 with her husband in a bright, aqua-green frock, which she first wore in 2012 for her Diamond Jubilee Tour — and again while attending the men’s singles final between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, (who eventually won the tournament).
Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon Dress 2014 — Recycles At Men’s Singles Final:
Kate was very expressive while watching the gripping match, pumping her fists in the air full of support. We honestly couldn’t keep our eyes off of her — especially in that bright frock!
Kate Middleton’s Jonathan Saunders Dress — First Worn In 2012:
Kate’s modest, knee-length day dress first made its debut as the duchess stepped off her private plane in Honiara, Guadalcanal Island, Solomon Islands on day six of her Diamond Jubilee tour of the Far East with Prince William. The dress is a Jonathan Saunders “Evelyn” wrap dress, worth an estimated $1,500. Kate’s 5’10 frame looked fantastic in the chic dress, which accentuated her thin figure with its fitted and square silhouette and waist-cinching tie.
During her tour, Kate paired the modest dress with a white clutch, white pumps, and a white headpiece over her clean half-up half-down hairdo for a very put-together look. At the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championship over the weekend, however, Kate let loose and opted for a much more carefree hairdo, styling her brunette locks in wispy curls that framed her expressive face. She kept her accessories simple as well, donning small dangling earrings, a silver watch, a nude clutch, and her signature sapphire wedding rock — we love how she modernized the outfit!
Kate Middleton — The Royal Recycler:
Kate is a fashion icon not only for her sophisticated ensembles, but for her taste in recycling. We love all her dresses and are thrilled that we get to see our favorite looks more than once on her. What dress are you hoping Kate will bring back next?
