So sad! On the July 7 episode of ‘The Bachelorette,’ Chris Harrison broke the news that Eric Hill had gotten into an accident and passed away — and Andi shockingly admitted she felt guilty.
While the hometown dates were definitely an adventure on this week’s Bachelorette, right before the final rose ceremony Andi Dorfman found out that Eric Hill had gotten into a paragliding accident and passed away at the young age of 32. We saw her heartfelt reaction on the show, as well as the final four.
Eric Hill’s Death: Andi & ‘Bachelorette’ Cast Find Out
Chris, Marcus, Nick and Josh all arrived at Chris Harrison‘s home and awaited Andi’s arrival — so we all knew something was going on.
“Y’all know, Eric Hill. He, a couple of days ago, was in Utah paragliding and was in a serious accident. We knew he was hurt bad we just didn’t know how bad. We learned this morning that he passed away,” Chris said, to which everyone was of course shocked.
Andi, of course, put her head down and began crying, as did Nick. More than anything, everyone looked completely in awe. Marcus actually got up and left to sit outside and Andi followed him out.
“It just puts it in perspective, there’s so much more to all this — there’s life. People have lives here,” she said upon re-entering. We also got a glimpse of the crew, putting down the cameras and coming into the shot to comfort the cast.
Andi Gets Emotional, Admits She Feels Guilty
“I can’t believe that was my last conversation with him,” we heard Andi say through sobs while hugging a crew member. The last conversation that she’s referring to is the one we saw on the June 2 episode, when he told her that she had a “poker face” and they got into an argument. Following that discussion, she was extremely upset and he went home.
Going into the rose ceremony, Andi admitted to Chris Harrison that she felt guilty and wasn’t sure how to go forward. She felt it was her “job to be strong for them” and pull it together for the rest of the guys. She actually barely could do the rose ceremony.
Our thoughts go out to Eric’s friends and family.
