Chris the Farmer may seem like a perfect, good at heart gentleman on ‘The Bachelorette,’ but does he have a rough streak? A new report claims that the bachelor has been put in handcuffs more than once in his life — like, WAY more than once.
Chris Soules has probably been the least polarizing contestant on Andi Dorfman‘s season of The Bachelorette — he’s kind, handsome, strong, and romantic. Everybody loves him, and no one has had any reason not to. Until now, as a report claims that the small-town Iowa farmer has an extensive rap sheet.
‘Bachelorette’: Chris The Farmer Has A Bad Side
In total, Chris has been arrested multiple times and has plead guilty to 13 charges in his life, according to Radar Online. His most severe run-in with the law happened in 2006, when he was found guilty of operating a vehicle intoxicated. He was charged over $500 and served one year of probation.
But that wasn’t the first time he reportedly got into trouble, and it wasn’t the last. Chris has also been fined for speeding multiple times, and in 2001, when he was 19 years old, he was found guilty of possession of alcohol under age twice. That same year, he was again hit with similar charges, with an added charge of driving with an open container. Then in 2002 he was charged for fighting on a Valentine’s Day incident, and a month later he was found guilty of fleeing the scene of an accident.
Finally things seemed to calm down for Chris, though he has been hit with a couple of speeding violations, as well as a registration violation, in the years since his wild days. For all of these charges, Chris either paid substantial fines or performed community service.
So no, Chris was not in a gang or anything like that — he didn’t murder anyone. But still, 13 guilty charges!? That’s a guy who really doesn’t learn his lesson.
Chris Soules: How Will His Past Affect ‘The Bachelorette’?
We have to wonder a couple things regarding this revelation about Chris’ bad boy side. First of all, he just made it to the hometown date episode on The Bachelorette last night, June 30, so we’re curious to see if Andi will find out about Chris’ lead foot and pension for drinking when she visits Iowa.
Secondly, and more importantly, we wonder if Bachelorette producers knew about this side of Chris when they — SPOILER ALERT — chose him to be the next Bachelor. HollywoodLife.com told you first that the kindhearted farmer would be searching for his wife on the next season, but now we wonder if producers will reconsider. We hope not — we still think Chris is a good guy, even if he seemingly has a ton of trouble reading speed limit signs.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Are you shocked that Chris has such a long rap sheet? Let us know!
