Erykah Badu, 43, surprised PIX11 News reporter, Mario Diaz, when she attempted to kiss him during a live TV newscast on June 27. During the live TV coverage on the arrest of Shia LaBeouf, Erykah stood behind the reporter and made ridiculous faces and hand gestures. At one point, she even attempted to kiss the reporter! Mario is the latest victim of a videobomb on live TV when he was reporting on Shia’s recent arrest for PIX11.
Erykah, wearing a large, Pharrell-esque hat, awkwardly walked back and forth in the background of the live shot multiple times making goofy faces and hand gestures. Then, she unexpectedly grabbed Mario’s arm and tried to give him a kiss on the cheek!
Despite the interruption, Mario stayed professional and was able to recover as gracefully as one could. He gently pushed her off saying, “Excuse me,” before he finished his live shot.
Mario Responds To Erykah’s Videobomb With Humor: ‘I Get It’
After the incident, Erykah tweeted him an apology. Mario cleverly responded with lyrics from Prince‘s famous hit, “Kiss,” and in another tweet he added that his wife saw the whole thing go down!
