The June 23 episode of ‘True Blood’ featured one of the steamiest sex scenes the show has ever seen! Do you agree, or do you have another in mind?
True Blood is known for vampires almost as much as it’s known for its sex scenes, and on June 23 the show knocked it out of the park when two characters who had never been in a scene like it before got to know each other a little better — carnally speaking, of course. I thought it was the sexiest in True Blood history, and no, I haven’t forgotten about that threesome in Season 4.
Jason & Eric’s ‘True Blood’ Sex Scene Was The Hottest In The Show’s History
“I Found You” opens with Jason (Ryan Kwanten) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) in a heated, dream-lit argument which eventually ends in a little light grappling and then literally the most sensuous make out session and sex scene that I’ve ever seen.
It’s shocking not because it’s gay sex — which I’m sure will have zillions of dumdums up in arms — but because it is so intimate that I felt like I was watching a real-life couple go at it. (Er, not that I make a habit of that in my spare time.) Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, your (presumably?) straight co-stars just put you to shame.
And I know, I know — there was the Bill/Sookie/Eric threesome dream in Season 4, and that horrifying scene between Bill and Lorenna (Mariana Klaveno) in Season 3 where her head twisted around and I was given nightmares for the rest of my life. Still, I maintain that Jason and Eric’s scene will be one for the True Blood ages.
Three Cheers For ‘True Blood’ And Its Equal Opportunity Objectification Of Both The Male And Female Forms
It was basically straight out of a tawdry romance novel; a heated argument, a backdrop of approximately 107 lit candles, some light shoving, and then a super passionate make out sesh. Just as it was about to get X-rated — Eric dropping to his knees — Jason woke up in church. In church. And then he looked down at his lap in betrayed surprise.
Throughout the episode, the scene was not addressed whatsoever, which is why True Blood is such a blessing for the masses. It was more than gratuitous — it was just totally bonkers. Who couldn’t have loved it, even if for that reason alone?
What True Blood lacks in character development, plot development, or even in common sense, it makes up for in representation of the POC and LGBT communities, and of its equal opportunity objectification of both the male and female forms. Jason and Eric’s sex scene was insane objectification at its finest — something which the writers clearly had in their back pockets, just waiting to spring at us when it makes the least amount of sense and as a last hurrah in its final season.
Oh, and here is a gift for you, because I am so nice:
So, HollywoodLifers, do you agree that Jason and Eric’s sex scene True Blood‘s steamiest? Do you, too, take great joy in how totally off-the-rails crazy True Blood is? Let me know!
