The United States may have lost against Germany in the World Cup on June 26, but that doesn’t mean they’re out of the running. However, Tim Howard is not happy with only making it through — he wanted to win.
The United States lost to Germany 1-0 in a 2014 FIFA World Cup match, but it didn’t end up being such a big deal — the U.S. still made their way into the Round of 16, but USMNT player Tim Howard was not pleased by simply making it through. “We are not happy just getting there,” he told Yahoo! Sports. “We want to progress.”
Tim Howard ‘Not Happy’ About USMNT Loss vs. Germany
“We have still got a lot left in us,” the USMNT goalkeeper said of their loss. “We go again. We get to the round of 16 and it shows how far we have come – that we are not happy just getting there, we want to progress.
“This was a tough game in tough conditions. Germany have a chance to win the World Cup, that’s how good they are. We have still got more left,” Tim continued to Yahoo! Sports.
Tim Howard: ‘I Am Proud Of The Group And Now We Move On’
However, the USMNT has an opportunity to go farther in the Cup than they did in 2010, where they lost to Ghana in the Round of 16. “I am proud of the group and now we move on. We have a great opportunity and we control our own destiny. That is a good feeling to have,” Tim said.
The United States’ next chance to prove their might will be on July 1 at 4pm vs. Belgium, who has one of the best teams in the Cup. HollywoodLifers, do you think the U.S. will earn their next victory? Let us know!
