Oh, Amy Adams — now we have yet ANOTHER reason to love you. The five-time Oscar nominated actress gave up her first class seat — without snagging any attention for it — on a flight this morning, according to an eyewitness.
Amy Adams, 39, was flying from on Delta airlines from Detroit, Michigan to Los Angeles, California on June 27 — and she noticed an American soldier was also on her flight, but in coach class. Amy graciously AND quietly gave up her first class seat to the soldier (and sat in his coach seat), according to reports.
Amy Adams Gives Up Seat for Hero Soldier: Actress Switches Seats To Fly Coach
As Amy was quietly offering her seat to the soldier, another flyer noticed the actresses kind act — and tweeted about it. “Just saw actress Amy Adams do something incredibly classy. She gave her 1st class seat to an American soldier. I’m an even bigger fan now,” Jemele Hill, a host on ESPN’s Numbers Never Lie, tweeted. Later, Jemele opened up to TODAY.com about the flight, saying:
“When we were waiting to board, I saw her glance the soldier’s way and then she said something to the person she was traveling with. Once we boarded, I saw she was in first class. I was upgraded to first class and she was a couple rows behind me. I think she must have said something to the flight attendant, because before we took off she had vacated her seat and the flight attendant brought the soldier to her seat,” Jemele told TODAY.com in an email.
Amy Adams: ‘I Did It For Attention For The Troops’
After Amy landed in Los Angeles, Inside Edition cameras spotted the star and asked her about her kind act. Amy, who was wearing big sunglasses and seemed to be trying to go unnoticed, waved off the cameras at first. Eventually, she gave a simple and humble statement to the camera: “I didn’t do it for attention for myself. I did it for attention for the troops,” she said.
We’ve always been a big fan of Amy, but this just shows how amazing of a person she is. Thank you, Amy, for reminding us what’s important — and showing that you’re never too big of a star to act gracious and humble.
