It looks like Jillian Michaels has finally revealed the reason she decided to quit ‘The Biggest Loser’ — for the third time. On June 25, NBC confirmed that she would not return for season 16. Shortly after, Jillian revealed she was ‘stunned’ by winner Rachel Fredrikson’s dramatic transformation.
When The Biggest Loser returns in the fall, viewers will not see Jillian Michaels. On June 25, NBC released a statement that said Jillian will not return for season 16. The network did not reveal why Jillian decided to leave the show, however, later that day, Jillian revealed the real reason — Rachel Fredrikson‘s dramatic weight loss.
Jillian Michaels Quits ‘Biggest Loser’: Reason Revealed
While NBC confirmed that Jillian had simply decided to “part ways” after “helping hundreds of contestants transform their lives,” the real reason Jillian decided to leave The Biggest Loser was just been revealed.
The show, known for putting contestants through rigorous diet and exercise, has seen its fair share of contestants lose well over 100lbs, but no one has lost as much weight as Rachel, which was half her body weight!
“Especially considering what happened with Rachel — her [Jillian’s] feeling is there isn’t proper attention paid to the contestant’s health or wellness,” the source said.
Jillian Michaels Quits ‘Biggest Loser’ For Third Time
This is not the first time Jillian has decided to quit the show. Jillian made her debut on The Biggest Loser in 2004 and frequently worked with trainer Bob Harper. In 2006, she took a break, returned in 2007 before she left again in 2011.
In May, Jillian hinted to Us Weekly that her days at the show were coming to an end.
“The problem with Biggest Loser is that it’s become such a cartoon of me and it’s also—you maybe see what I’ve done in 10 days, you maybe see 5 minutes of it,” Jillian told the mag. “And of course, the 5 minutes that they’re going to show is going to be the most sort of crazy, off the wall 5 minutes.”
