Demi Lovato is definitely a hit maker, and if her “Really Don’t Care” music video is any indication, she’s also a party starter.
Although, the song was originally penned as a breakup song, it quickly changed to become a ballad about feeling empowered, by none other than Wilmer, who shows up for a quick second in the video!
“I have a special guest at the end of the video and its just such a badass moment that I’m so excited for my fans to see,” Demi told MTV, presumably teasing Wilmer. “It’s just so cool.”
Also dancing with Demi is The Vampire Diaries star Kat Graham, Travis Barker and Cher Lloyd who is featured on the song.
To support the LGBT community, the video was shot at the annual L.A. Pride parade in West Hollywood on June 8 where Demi was the grand marshal. How cool!
“The energy was electric and radiates in this video,” Demi told Mashable. “For me, ‘Really Don’t Care’ is an anthem that represents being comfortable in your own skin and not caring what others think. Pride defines that.”
Demi Lovato Is A Fierce Supporter Of Gay Rights
Demi’s new video shows off her support for defending gay rights. The “Skyscraper” hit maker and role model described her grandfather as a “trailblazer” for coming out before it was socially accepted, during a touching speech at Logo TV’s first Trailblazers Awards. “He was brave enough to come out in the 1960s, and I feel that a lot of my spirit has come from him. He passed away a few years later and I only wish he could have been able to see all the progress that has been made.”
Demi kicks off her new world tour on Sept. 6 in Baltimore, but before that, she is heading to New York City to perform and join in on the festivities at the gay pride parade.
We love Demi’s inspirational message, and have to point just how fun the video is — it’s one big party that goes along perfectly with the upbeat, colorful track!
