Slender Man Stabbing Victim Still Recovering, Thanks Supporters
The family of the 12-year-old girl who amazingly survived a knife attack, allegedly by her classmates, are thanking those who have sent well-wishes online and through the mail.
They said in a statement on the Hearts For Healing: 12 Year Old WI Girl; Official Fundraiser Facebook page:
“Our family would like to thank everyone who has supported our daughter on her miraculous road to recovery. Our little girl has received thousands of purple hearts from numerous countries and from most continents. We simply cannot put into words how grateful we are for the prayers, packages and heartfelt messages. We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support.
Together as a family, we continue to adjust to our ‘new normal.’ She has a courageous heart and bravely deals with both the physical and emotional challenges since the attack. Though many days consist of medical appointments and rehabilitation, recently she and her father enjoyed a ‘daddy – daughter night at the movies’ and thoroughly enjoyed a Disney film. It also included, (after much persistence) a stop for a much-deserved treat at the snack area.”
Along with the statement, the family posted the very first picture of the victim surrounded by cards and gifts from her supporters. In the photo, the young girl is wearing long sleeves, presumably to cover any markings she may have from the vicious knife attack she survived.
Her family has continued to protect her identity by keeping her face out of the photo’s frame.
We’re so glad that she is feeling better!
Slender Man Victim: The Terrifying Act That Changed Her Life
The alleged attackers, Morgan and Anissa, tricked the victim into playing a game of hide-and-seek in the woods on Saturday, May 31, after a sleepover.
Sadly, the game took a horrific turn when they alleged attacked the victim with a kitchen knife and stabbed her 19 times in the legs, arms, and torso.
Morgan and Anissa had allegedly been planning the attack for months in an attempt to impress popular fictional character, Slender Man. The official criminal complaint from the state of Wisconsin claimed that they believed if they killed their friend, they could run away and live with Slender Man.
The two young girls have been in police custody since May 31, and Morgan is scheduled to undergo a mental evaluation before their next court hearing.
