Play nice, boys! At the 2014 FIFA World Cup game between Uruguay and Italy, Luis Suarez totally bit Giorgio Chiellini on the shoulder before Luis took a dive! Watch!
During the Uruguay vs. Italy FIFA World Cup game on June 24, Luis Suarez fouled on Italian player Giorgio Chiellini so badly that many are calling for his ban! During the game — which Uruguay won 1-0, by the way — Luis sunk his teeth into Giorgio’s shoulder. See below to watch!
Luis Suarez Bites Giorgio Chiellini During Italy vs. Uruguay World Cup Match
Here is the moment when Luis allegedly bit Giorgio:
In the video, you can see Luis definitely getting in Giorgio’s space, and Giorgio alleged later that Luis bit him. After it happened, both players hit the grass; Giorgio showing off his now-red shoulder, and Luis holding his teeth, as if he hurt himself in his quest to chomp Giorgio’s arm off.
Giorgio Chiellini: ‘It Was Ridiculous Not To Send Suarez Off’
“It was ridiculous not to send Suarez off,” Giorgio told Rai TV after the game. “It is clear, clear-cut and then there was the obvious dive afterwards because he knew very well that he did something that he shouldn’t have done.”
Since the two players were so close, it could be argued that Luis simply hit his head on the other player’s shoulder, but he looks like he’s clearly sticking his head out, with the intention to bite.
Now, many on Twitter are calling to #BanSuarez for his infarction, and, indeed, this isn’t the first time that Luis has used his chompers during a match. In 2013, he was banned for 10 games after biting Otman Bakkal, and in 2010, he was suspended for seven games after biting Branislav Ivanovic. Luis — there has to be a better way.
So, HollywoodLifers, what do you think? Should Luis Suarez be banned? Let us know!
