Tree Falls & Kills 2 Children In The Backseat Of A Moving Car

How scary.

In what can only be described as a freak accident, two small children died of blunt force trauma after a tree fell directly onto the back of their parents car on Monday afternoon, June 24 in Jerome, Penn, reports the Daily Mail.

After the tree hit the car, the driver lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a utility pole. A witness claims that shortly after the crash, the pregnant woman emerged from the passenger side of the car screaming in agony, “My babies, my babies!”

One look at the crushed vehicle will make you sick to your stomach, as it appears the tree fell down so quick and hard it almost completely flattened the vehicle. It is a miracle anyone survived this horrific accident at all.

Somerset County police told the Daily American that the car was traveling south on Route 403 at an unknown speed when the tree fell, landing directly on top of the moving vehicle.

“All indications are it was just a freak accident,” Police Chief Louis Barclay said in a report, stating that investigators believe the tree was rotted at the base.

The two children were killed instantly, while three other passengers in the vehicle — their pregnant mother, a male driver, and one other child — were immediately rushed to Conemaugh Medical Center to be treated for injuries. Their conditions are currently unknown.

Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the two little children whose lives were lost in this tragic accident.
