Andi pulled a total Old Yeller on the June 23 episode of ‘The Bachelorette,’ cutting her one-on-one date with Cody short and ending his stay in Venice, Italy early. It was hard to watch Cody’s heart crumble into a million pieces, but at the end of the day, Andi did what she had to do — and I’m pretty sure she made the right call.
The Bachelorette‘s Cody always functioned well in a group setting — his never-ending positivity was infectious and his fun-loving attitude made him stand out as one of Andi Dorfman‘s most likable bachelors. He even stood up to Nick V., which made him a fan-favorite. But when Cody finally got some alone time with Andi on the June 23 episode of The Bachelorette, it was clear that he and Andi just weren’t meant to be.
‘The Bachelorette’: Cody Blows It Big Time
First of all, Cody went into his one-on-one date with the attitude of “I’m going to make Andi fall in love with me,” when he really should have just been trying to get to know the girl. Things only got worse when he read a hand-written letter (quickly becoming every bachelor’s go-to move this season) that started something like, “One year ago, I was watching TV and I saw a beautiful girl.” BIG mistake, Cody — don’t you remember what happened to the last guy who reminded Andi that she was on a television show?
And then Cody just wouldn’t. Stop. Talking. Even though he should’ve noticed Andi CRYING as a sign to shut up, he kept yammering on and veering into psycho territory until Andi mercifully stopped him.
It was hard to watch. And it was even harder to watch Cody come to the teary realization that he wasn’t going to get the girl of his dreams, the pretty one he saw on TV that one time.
Andi Dorfman: You Made The Right Decision
But I don’t think there’s any argument that Andi was right to send Cody packing right then and there. As the blond personal trainer droned on, you could see Andi start to grasp that he was sooo wrong for her. And I think her assessment was spot on — of all the remaining guys Andi has there’s no question that her connection (Whatever that means. It’s a word The Bachelorette uses a lot) was weakest with Cody.
Cody was a fun guy — but he doesn’t really seem like the kind of person you want to spend a lot of time alone with.
So good for Andi for being in tune with her feelings, noting how things weren’t working with Cody, and making a swift decision before she wasted any more of his time.
Now if she could only do that to Nick! What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Was Andi too harsh or did she make the right call? Let me know.
