Lady Gaga has scrapped a questionable music video she and R. Kelly filmed for their hit song, ‘Do What U Want’, reportedly due to recent claims that its director, Terry Richardson, has sexually assaulted or harassed models he’s worked with. Watch the controversial clip right here and let us know what YOU think.
Lady Gaga is usually praised for pushing the envelope with her racy performances and music videos — but apparently even she thought her “Do Want U Want” video was taking things too far. Especially since the shocking video, which basically uses sexual assault as its theme, features R.Kelly, who was once tried for alleged child pornography, and Terry Richardson, who has recently come under fire for alleged sexual misconduct.
Lady Gaga Pulls Music Video Because Of Terry Richardson Sexual Assault Claims?
Let us just begin by saying we are SO glad Lady Gaga had the good sense to shelve this video, which is all kinds of creepy and wrong.
The video above, obtained by TMZ, stars R.Kelly as a doctor and Lady Gaga as his patient. As Gaga lays helpless in a hospital bed, R. Kelly reaches under her sheet and asks, “How does that feel?” Gaga moans in response, and he says, “Sounds like that medicine’s starting to kick in.” Then Gaga passes out, the music kicks in, and a bunch of scantily clad women dressed as nurses start rubbing her body and twerking on top of her.
A source also tells Jezebel that the full video contains the following dialogue: “Gaga asks Kelly, ‘Will I ever be able to walk again?’ The singer replies, ‘Yes, if you let me do whatever I want with your body.’ The not-so-good doctor then adds, ‘I’m putting you under, and when you wake up, you’re going to be pregnant.'”
Terry Richardson can also be seen in the video, snapping pictures of Gaga as she writhes around the floor, covered in newspapers. Sources tell TMZ that Lady Gaga was reportedly unaware of the sexual assault allegations against Terry, and when she found out, she became worried about the potential backlash and decided not to release the video.
Lady Gaga Explains Why She Hasn’t Released ‘Do What U Want’ Video
Lady Gaga and R.Kelly debuted their hit song “Do What U Want” in October, 2013, and she took to her LittleMonsters website in January to explain why a video hadn’t been released to accompany the track.
It is late because, just like with the ‘Applause’ video unfortunately, I was given a week to plan and execute it. It is very devastating for someone like me, I devote every moment of my life to creating fantasies for you. All my most successful videos were planned over a period of time when I was rested and my creativity was honored. Those who have betrayed me gravely mismanaged my time and health and left me on my own to damage control any problems that ensued as a result. Millions of dollars are not enough for some people. They want billions. Then they need trillions. I was not enough for some people. They wanted more.
So what do YOU think of all this, HollywoodLifers? Are you glad Lady Gaga pulled this video? Let us know!
