Sia Furler, 38, who only goes by her first name “Sia” onstage, can’t stop gushing over her performance last night for President Obama. Sia’s famous for appearing on mega-hit songs like “Titanium” and “Wild Ones,” but last night the Australian singer crooned her first solo song in four years, “Chandelier,” for the US Commander in Chief. Watch her amazing performance right here, right now!
“Chandelier” is a beautiful but haunting song about the Australian singer’s struggle with alcoholism. Sia was most likely nervous to perform for this high-profile crowd, but she didn’t show it! The singer looked stunning in a sweetheart-neck black gown that perfectly hugged her curves. She wore a unique undo and classic red lipstick to perform in front of a giant American flag on June 18.
The night, which was a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee, was special for Sia — the singer came out publicly as a bisexual woman in a UK magazine in 2006. After her absolutely amazing performance, the singer took to Twitter to show her shock and excitement after singing for the Prez!
Sia tweeted this message to her followers:
OMG i guess i just sang for the DNC and, er, THE PRESIDENT! #untelevised #faceoutfortheprez http://t.co/7cnFjQc96f

She tweeted the video above alongside her post, too. We’re so happy for Sia! Although the singer is Australian, her excitement for performing performing for the US President is really amazing! Way to go, Sia!
Before Sia became a solo singer, she wrote songs for other major stars! Sia still pens worldwide hits for mega-popular singers all the time, too. She’s behind Rihanna‘s hit song “Diamonds.” She also wrote the oh-so emotional song “Pretty Hurts” for Beyonce. Most recently, Sia penned “Cannonball” for Glee star turned solo singer Lea Michele. Sia is truly a songwriting genius! We’re really happy she got her big moment to sing for the President at such an awesome event.
