The Season 4 finale of ‘Game Of Thrones’ airs June 15, and if you’d like some spoilers, Kit Harington has provided them for you! In a new interview, he reveals whether or not Jon Snow kicks the bucket. Read on to find out!
Kit Harington, 27, is currently on an enormous press tour for his role in How To Train Your Dragon 2 (that boy just can’t stay away from dragons), and in an interview with Elle, he spilled the beans on Jon Snow’s fate for the Season 4 finale of Game Of Thrones! Read on to find out what it was like filming the most expensive episode in GoT history, as well as Kit’s thoughts on Ygritte’s (Rose Leslie‘s) final scene. (Shut up, you’re crying.) Mild spoilers below!
Kit Harington: Jon Snow Lives Through ‘Game Of Thrones’ Finale
“Next I’m doing Thrones Season 5,” Kit told Elle mag when asked about what’s next for him in his career, totally spilling, unprompted, that Jon Snow lives to see another bad idea-filled day!
About the finale episode, Kit revealed that “The battle ends at the end of episode nine, [“The Watchers On The Wall”]. The beginning of ten carries on with the story. Jon is focused on being a leader. He’s a much colder person after this. He loses a lot of whatever warmth he had, which, let’s face it, wasn’t a lot. … At the beginning of episode ten you see a very broken man.” It is literally impossible to imagine Jon Snow more broken.
“He’s been going through heartbreak the entire season. Whether you’ve seen it or not, he’s been going through it. It all ends the only way it could end and the way he probably knew it would end. He’s not naïve. He knew there was the possibility of seeing [Ygritte] die or her seeing him die at the battle,” Kit continued.
Kit Harington: Ygritte Would Have Never Killed Jon Snow
Kit also doesn’t think that Ygritte would have been capable of shooting that arrow, and that shooting the scene was “very emotional. Me and Rose … knew that was in the books. … We got the scripts, though, and the dialogue was beautiful. The way it happened was perfect, in my opinion. … Had Olly not shot the arrow, Jon would have done nothing. There’s a moment where he smiles and it’s a moment of satisfaction of seeing her,” Kit told Elle. “It’s a beautiful scene.”
Bye, crying forever.
So, HollywoodLifers, what do you think about Jon being in Season 5? Are you surprised he’ll live to brood another day? What did you think about his finale scene with Ygritte? Would she have shot the arrow? And are you at all emotionally prepared for the June 15 finale? Finally, isn’t it kind of funny that Jon totally spoiled his character’s fate without even being directly asked about it? Let us know!
