Are the rumors true? We told you that ‘Star Wars’ creators have been thinking about casting Rob Pattinson as a young Han Solo in a new prequel. On June 12, we caught up with Rob and got the exclusive scoop, right from his mouth!
While he’s currently promoting his new film, The Rover, Robert Pattinson is at the top of the list for a new film — all about Han Solo before Star Wars. However, if he’s actually the studio’s top picks, Rob hasn’t heard that yet, he told HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
Robert Pattinson: Han Solo In ‘Star Wars?’
For weeks now, reports have circled the web that say Rob is in talks to star in a new Star Wars film and even in a new Indiana Jones. However, when asked about it, he said flat out that wasn’t the case.
“No, I don’t know why that is coming out,” he told us on the red carpet for The Rover. “It’s crazy! It’s like all those other BS rumors… I mean I wish! I didn’t even know there was a Han Solo spin off. I mean I’ll watch it!”
He continued talking about it to us on the carpet, saying that he actually had no idea they were making any spinoff of Star Wars or reboot on Indiana Jones.
RPatz’s New Roles
While we’re bummed he hasn’t yet heard about it, we still have some hope it could happen.
“Everyone has been talking about the possibility that Rob will be the new Indiana Jones, but that is not going to happen,” a source recently told us. “What has been talked about is a standalone Han Solo film, younger Han Solo before everything that happened in Star Wars and the person who is on the high list to get the part is Robert Pattinson.”
So, maybe it just hasn’t been confirmed yet! We can hope, right? What do you think, Hollywood Lifers? Do you think he would be good as Han Solo or Indiana Jones?
