Justin Bieber has had his fair share of controversy lately. After two racist videos leaked of Justin using the N-word, Justin’s been lying low. Many friends have come to the Biebs’ defense and now his mentor Usher is assuring everyone that Justin is ‘not a racist’ in a new Instagram post.
Usher knows first-hand that Justin Bieber hasn’t always made the best decisions. However, in light of Justin’s N-word scandal, Usher took to Instagram on June 7 to open up about Justin’s use of “racial slurs” and how Justin is “not a racist”
Usher On Justin Bieber: He Is ‘Not A Racist’
Usher already spoke out once about how he hated some of the things Justin said in the racist videos. One video featured a young Justin telling racist jokes, and then another was leaked featuring Justin singing his hit song “One Less Lonely Girl” as “One Less Lonely N****r.”
As a mentor, Usher has been there to guide Justin through his ups and downs, and he is definitely standing by Justin now. He posted a sweet picture on Instagram June 7 of a young Justin with him. He included this profound caption:
“At my core, I am a person that supports growth and understands without judgement, that growth often comes as a result of pain and continues effort. As I have watched Justin Bieber navigate difficult waters as a young man, I can tell you that he hasn’t always chosen the path of his greatest potential, but he is unequivocally not a racist. What he was 5 years ago was a naive child who did not understand the negative power and degradation that comes from playing with racial slurs. What he is now is a young man faced with an opportunity to become his best self, an example to the millions of kids that follow him to not make the same mistakes.”
HollywoodLife.com learned EXCLUSIVELY that Usher was “disappointed in the direction” Justin has been going, but hoped to get him back on track.
With this new statement from Usher, it looks like he is going to be there for the Biebs amidst the scandal plaguing the young star’s career at the moment. Other stars and friends of Justin are sticking by him, including Chris Brown, Lil Wayne and Lil Za.
Justin Bieber Apologizes For Racist Videos
“Once again, I am sorry for all those I have let down and offended. I just hope that the next kid that age who doesn’t understand the power of these words does not make the same mistake I once made years ago. At the end of the day I just need to step up and own what I did.”
With Usher standing by his side and helping him get through and understand this controversy, Justin will come out on the other side a better man.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think about Usher’s comments concerning Justin’s N-word scandal? Does Justin deserve to be forgiven? Let us know!
