Maria Sharapova In French Open Final: Tennis Star In 3rd Consecutive Final
Eugenie was hoping to become the first Canadian player to make a major final but she didn’t stand a chance against Maria, who is on a roll with a total of 19 three-set matches in a row now under her belt!
Maria may have dropped the ball on the first set in her last two matches against Samantha Stosur and Gabine Muguruza but she still ended up on top today!
“Of course I would prefer to win in two sets but in this situation she started playing so well,” Maria said of Eugenie in an on-court interview after the nearly two-and-a-half-hour match.
Don’t be too hard on yourself, Maria — you kicked butt today!

Despite the major loss, Maria exceeded fans expectations last year, and we think she just might have what it takes to take home the trophy this time around!
