After the monster success of Maleficent, Disney is ready to work its magic on another one of its classic animated fairytales, and one of our all-time favorite actresses, Kristen Stewart, has a super-strong shot at being tapped for the lead role, HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned.
Relationship drama aside, Kristen did an amazing job of playing Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman, and it seems like the newly named Beauty and the Beast director, Bill Condon, took notice!
“The process and the script for the movie are still in the beginning stages but as it fleshes out, Bill Condon has definitely thought of Kristen Stewart as a possible Belle,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
There’s one potential problem, however.
“By the time they make the film, it might be 2015 or 2016 and they think she’ll be busy and they might go after somebody younger. Disney’s thoughts are, the big name for the film should be devoted to the Beast so Kristen has a 50/50 chance to be Belle.”
Wow, we hope she gets the part! We think Kristen would be so perfect for the role of book-loving beauty Belle.
Everything’s coming up Kristen! Not only might she land this huge part, but it’s also just been revealed that she’s on excellent terms with her ex Robert Pattinson. In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rob was asked whether he and Kristen were still in touch, and he cheerfully responded, “Oh, yeah.”
Things have never been the same between Rob and Kristen after she was spotted cheating with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, in July, 2012, so we’re glad to hear that they’re still friends!
So HollywoodLifers, are YOU still hoping that Rob and Kristen will reunite? And would you like to see her play Belle in the new live action version of Beauty and the Beast? Let us know!
