On the June 3 episode of ‘The Little Couple,’ Jen juggles her career with family life as she and Bill celebrate their first Easter with their adorable toddlers, Will and Zoey.
Dr. Jennifer Arnold is cancer free and returning to her normal life — consisting of an equal balance between her career and family life. With Easter Sunday finally here, Jen and her husband, Bill Klein, take Will and Zoey to an Easter egg hunt and to enjoy some quality family time.
‘The Little Couple’s Jen Returns To Work
With Jen at work, Bill made sure to get Will and Zoey in the Easter spirit by dyeing Easter eggs and putting adorably fuzzy bunny ears on their heads. With a 4 and 2 year-old things are bound to get messy. Will thought the colors were so beautiful that he wanted to but the dye in his mouth, which prompted Bill to have to take away the dye from Will.
Bill said, “I love being my kids best friend, but you can’t always do that, you have to discipline them and you have to explain to them why it’s wrong. When I do it they know that I’m serious and then they pout for a little bit and then they get over it.”
Sounds like Bill has struck the perfect balance between being Will and Zoey’s best friend and disciplining them when absolutely necessary!
Meanwhile, Jen was at work getting back into the swing of things. Although she was glad to be back doing what she loves to do, helping people, that didn’t stop the busy mom from missing her kids and wanting to be with them during their first Easter.
Jen said, “Do I wish I was at home dyeing Easter eggs with Bill and my kids? Absolutely. It’s never fun to be a mom and to work on a holiday weekend, it’s just part of the lifestyle that I chose, it’s part of medicine, the babies need doctors and nurses everyday 24×7. After I get home I am going to rally some energy hopefully and we are going to go and do some Easter activities.”
Of course, Jen was able to rally some energy and hang out with her kids and Bill who were already in the Easter spirit.
Jen said, “I know now that I am back to work I can’t have as much quantity time with the kids, but now it is about quality time. It’s really important to be apart of every holiday with the kids, if Bill’s home he can get the festivities started, but then I want to make sure that I get to participate as well.”
These two certainly have learned to strike the perfect balance!
Jen, Bill & The Kids Go On A Easter Egg Hunt
Once Jen was able to change everyone into their Easter clothes — in typical Jen fashion she of course wanted to get plenty of picture of Zoey and Will doing what they do best, being adorable, the family went to Blessington Farms for a Easter egg hunt and to pick some strawberries.
Everything was going smooth until Will spotted an ice cream truck — that’s when all bets were off! At least until he was told that he would get a treat if he posed for pictures with his baby sister. Of course with that incentive Will was camera ready and Jen was able to get some great shots of the kids.
Before the egg hunt began, Will and Jen went to visit and pet the chickens, while Bill and Zoey opted to not participate in this particular activity. We learned that Bill is afraid of chickens and was not sure if they had ‘fangs’ — for the record Bill, they have a beak.
Finally it was time to find the eggs! Each child was allowed to find 1o eggs, and then turn them in for candy and prizes. Will of course was committed and didn’t want to stop once he had collected his 10. However, once he was reminded that he could turn in his eggs for candy he immediately dumped out all of his eggs onto the ground which caused Bill to laugh, which then spurred Will to do it over and over again to make his dad laugh.
Jen said, “Being out first Easter together all four of us, it was definitely a success. I was worried I wouldn’t have the energy to enjoy the holiday, but I think going to the farm just re-energized me, it was definitely a good day.”
