You’d think that Michael Jackson‘s “Billie Jean” would have been covered in every imaginable way by now, but you’d be wrong. It’s literally vital that you take a couple of minutes out of your day to watch the Bottle Boys perform the classic which originally appeared on Thriller in 1982 using only beer bottles. Nothing like human innovation. Watch below!
As you can see, the video is an actual delight.
The Bottle Boys are a band, and they play on bottles. That’s pretty much their whole schtick. But they do it well! This isn’t the only classic they’ve covered using only bottles — they’ve also covered “Walking On Sunshine” by Katrina And The Waves, which you can watch here, unless you hate joy. I don’t know your life.
The Bottle Boys received huge recognition for their cover of “Billie Jean” after it appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on June 2. They’ve also been interviewed by the NY Daily News, where they told the outlet that they started their band at a “really boring” college party that they decided to liven up by playing music with all the nearby empties.
The band, who originate from Copenhagen, Denmark, also “know how to play what you would call real instruments,” but, “bottles have become real instruments to [them] now.” Hey, why not? They clearly make beautiful music.
Taylor Swift fans, they’ve also performed a cover of “We Are Never Getting Back Together,” so, you’re welcome for that!
What did you think of the video, HollywoodLifers? Are you watching their whole catalogue on YouTube right now? Let us know!
