On the June 2 episode of ’24: Live Another Day,’ Jack got a new partner! Plus, who’s been a traitor the whole time?
The June 2 episode of 24: Live Another Day was another thrilling continuation of Jack’s (Kiefer Sutherland) plan to stop the attack against President Heller (William Devane). Jack partnered up with Kate (Yvonne Strahovski), Margot (Michelle Fairley) continued to make sure her drone attack plan went off without a hitch and someone was revealed to be a traitor!
’24: Live Another Day’ Recap: By Any Means Necessary
The aftermath of the explosion on Navarro (Benjamin Bratt) and his men was pretty gruesome. Thankfully, Navarro and Erik (Gbenga Akinnagbe) made it out alive. Heller realized the raid was an ambush. The Prime Minister (Stephen Fry) was naturally worried about London and wanted all information about the drone program from Heller.
Jack and Heller met up once again and Heller revealed he and his team were wrong about Margot’s location. Heller wanted to know more about the guy Jack knew who was close to Margot. As Jack had told Heller before, the only way they were going to get close to Margot through this guy was if they did things Jack’s way.
Navarro wasn’t so sure about Jack’s plan because he wanted no surveillance or backup. Jack also wanted one more thing: Kate. Heller wanted to do whatever Jack wanted, even if that meant involving Kate, who was set to be transferred back to the States. When Jordan (Giles Matthey) told Kate the news, she was shocked. She had no time to ponder because a helicopter was waiting to take her to Jack.
Back at Margot’s drone headquarters, Ian was worried about Simone. He told Margot that she shouldn’t have killed Navid (Sacha Dhawan) in front of her because Simone had real feelings for him. Margot was quick to slap Ian for that. If he was second guessing Simone, he was second guessing Margot, which could NOT happen. When Margot’s bodyguards were disposing of Navid’s body, his phone started to ring. It was Navid’s sister, who was worried about her brother and wondered when they were ditching London.
Margot was furious with Simone about this possible leak of information. Simone knew nothing and Margot sent her off to find out what Navid’s sister knew about her plans for attack. If Navid’s sister knew too much, then Simone was to off her at any means necessary. (Margot is such a grump!)
’24: Live Another Day’ Recap: Partners In Undercover Missions
Mark (Tate Donovan) was the one to hand over Jack’s new phone and he wanted to have a little chit chat. The silence in the room was deafening. Mark wanted to know what was said between Audrey (Kim Raver) and Jack. Mark blamed Jack for Audrey’s condition in the beginning and wanted Jack to stay away from her now. Jack said that Audrey told him that Mark was a good man and that she cared for him. After his convo with Mark, Jack called Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and needed Belcheck’s (Branko Tomovic) help!
Meanwhile, the Prime Minster was unsure of Heller’s plan that included Jack. After all, his country was at stake. The Prime Minister agreed to Heller’s plan cautiously, but started to doubt his decision immediately after learning of Heller’s deteriorating condition and wanted surveillance on Jack during his mission.
Jack and Kate were after Karl Rask (Aksel Hennie), who was in direct contact with Margot. How did Jack know him? Oh, he had just been working for him for the last three years! Jack still had contact with Chloe during his mission and she uploaded everything on Rask for Jack to use.
Back at Heller’s post, Mark told Audrey about his conversation with Jack. Audrey told Mark that it wasn’t necessary. Mark had to talk to Jack for his own reasons. Mark revealed what Jack had said and Audrey was clearly more concerned about Jack than Mark. Mark continued his sneaky streak when he received a call from a Russian diplomat! The diplomat assured Mark that Russia would help if Heller needed them too. He also wanted to know when they would be receiving Jack, who they’ve wanted for years. He was understandably not excited to hear about Heller working with Jack and wanted to hear from Heller ASAP. Things are about to get really bad for Mark, who forged Heller’s signature on Jack’s transfer!
En route to Rask, Kate wanted to know why Jack was involved with him. Jack was working with him to make sure big organizations in human trafficking and a drug cartel couldn’t keep doing business. Kate asked who he was working for during that time and Jack said only himself. Jack wasn’t on the best terms with Rask after ditching him when he found out about the attack against Heller. Rask probably thought Jack was the leak. And he was right.
Jack’s plan was to frame a guy named Nills, who was already dead. Rask had to believe Nills was his leak and Kate was his CIA contact. Kate would be delivered Rask as an offering. Jack would drug her so she couldn’t be interrogated. Kate agreed without a flinch.
’24: Live Another Day’ Recap: Selling Secrets
Simone caught up with Navid’s sister Farrah, who was worried about Navid. Simone told her that Navid was just stressed and there was nothing to worry about. Farrah asked Simone to dinner later that evening.
The Prime Minister and his team tracked down Jack and saw him delivering Kate to Rask. They thought he was betraying the Americans already. The Prime Minster chose not to tell Heller and handle it himself. Meanwhile, Jack put his plan in motion and offered up Kate. Jack told Rask he came back to make things right. Rask was open to negotiation and even had medicine that would counteract the drug used on Kate so he could talk to her! (Ruh roh.)
But Jack was not alone. Chloe was in constant contact and she had Belcheck ready to open fire on Rask’s men. When Kate opened her eyes, Rask’s men chained her up. They started to interrogate and torture her, but she didn’t crack. They dumped water on her and started shocking her! (Poor Kate!) Belcheck warned Jack and Chloe that Kate didn’t have much time. Then, the guy brought out the screwdriver. That’s when you know things are about to get bad. Belcheck was about to take them out, but was knocked unconscious by the British!
Rask thought Jack was the informant and wanted money. Jack agreed to hand over the money — all Rask had to do was enter the information into his bank. Always on top of things, Chloe had embedded a virus in the code. Before he could enter everything, British officers invaded! Kate’s interrogator caught wind of the invasion and started to bolt. Kate grabbed one of them with her legs and wrestled him to the ground. She took a knife and stabbed him with her hands tied behind her back! (All hail, Agent Kate!)
A shootout ensued and Jack finally got to press enter to upload the virus. Jack tried to stop Rask, but the British officers came in. Jack said he was working on behalf of President Heller. Before anything else could happen, Rask used a grenade and blew up the place! Jack was OK and told Chloe to look back through the high dollar transfers from the bank statements to find Margot.
Farrah was worried about Simone. While Farrah thought it was marital problems, it Simone was struggling with whether or not to kill Farrah! Simone told Farrah to get out of London now. Farrah started to call the police, but Simone couldn’t let that happen. Simone stabbed Farrah and her daughter watched the whole thing. Farrah’s daughter ran out screaming and a guy started chasing after her. As Simone chased after her, she got hit by a bus! (That’s karma.)
Earlier, Jordan found information on Kate’s husband, who was said to be selling secrets to the Russians. Sectors of information on Kate’s husband had been deleted, but Jordan said he could get it back. Navarro wanted him to focus on Margot and they would come back to that when they more time. This piqued Jordan’s interest. Later, Navarro made a call on a secure line. He revealed what Jordan was investigating. The man on the other line asked if Jordan was working with Kate, who was still trying to clear her husband’s name. As it turns out, Navarro was the one selling secrets the whole time! (Not cool, Benjamin Bratt. Not cool.)
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of tonight’s 24: Live Another Day? Did you like Jack and Kate teaming up? Can you believe Navarro has been selling secrets? Will Simone survive? Let me know!
