The star channeled her character, Sleeping Beauty, in an enchanting embroidered gown that looked gorgeous on the teen. Was her latest look premiere perfect in your book?
While Elle Fanning may play the role of Princess Aurora in the upcoming Disney summer blockbuster, Maleficent, the 16-year-old actress looked more like Cinderella than Sleeping Beauty when she made a dramatic entrance on the blue carpet at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on May 28, clad in a baby blue gown.
Elle Fanning’s ‘Maleficent’ Premiere Dress:
Elle selected an off-the-shoulder, embellished gown from Elie Saab‘s Spring 2014 couture collection for the occasion, and she looked like a real-life princess as she made her way down the red carpet. The color looked gorgeous against Elle’s fair complexion and she wore the embroidered tulle dress with the matching belt the model wore when she came down the runway. The elegant detailing of the ensemble gave way to a semi-sheer skirt and a dramatic train that trailed behind the starlet as she made her way down the carpet, gingerly utilizing the pockets that were sewn into the gown.
“I had this for a couple of months and was hoarding it, I had to wear this one because I thought it was so perfect,” Elle said on the red carpet at the premiere.
She added to the enchanting vibe of the gown by pairing the couture creation with an exquisite sparkling choker made up of diamond and pearls set in platinum, by Neil Lane. Two matching diamond, pearl, and platinum bracelets, also by the fine jewelry designer, looked perfectly polished on her wrist.
The most intricate detailing of the whole outfit had to be the floral-encrusted clip she wore in her hair surrounding her low bun. From the front, Elle’s ‘do consisted of a deep side part and her hair was pulled back — but when she turned around we couldn’t get over the gorgeous detailing on her hairpiece!
While some could argue this look is almost a bit too costume-y, I love everything about it — including the way she channeled her character in a chic, couture creation! While on another star this look might seem too sweet, it was appropriate and premiere perfect for the fashion-forward teen.
Do you agree?
