Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have put themselves through the emotional ringer on ‘True Tori’, and the season finale was no exception. We’ve got the troubled couple’s most ridiculous and exploitative moments from the final episode.
Tori & Dean Force Their Kids To Take A Family Photo
The episode begins with a family photo shoot. The photos are picture perfect, but what’s really going on behind the lens?
Tori insists that she just wants to have nice family photos, even though everything isn’t perfect — she wants to remember this moment.
But when their young son Liam doesn’t want to be in the photo shoot because he’s sad about mommy and daddy’s fighting, they make him take the photo.
The kids are worrying about so much and must be so confused with the constant turmoil in their house. They already have cameras following them. Do they really need another camera creeping in? Shouldn’t the parents be parents before worrying about the facade of their family via pictures?
Tori Tells Her Gal Pals That Dean Has A Special Tattoo
Tori gets lunch with a group of girlfriends, and tells the ladies all about her fears of Dean leaving.
She admits that she’s scared for Dean to be so far away, and she’s scared he might stray again. She ponders if she should make him get a tattoo to mark her territory…and then she reveals to her friends that Dean has a special tattoo that says “Tori’s.” And it’s in a very special place. Yep. Right there.
Tori & Dean Fight Over ‘Chopped Canada’
Dean has been battling the decision whether to go to Toronto for his next season of hosting Chopped Canada. Tori is not privy to her husband leaving her again — she’s been alone, raising the kids, as a single mom, while he’s been away at rehab.
“I have a career that I have to sustain,” says Dean.
“We need time to heal this family,” Tori pleads. “Disrupting that, the momentum will just be gone.”
When Dean decides to go along with the gig, Tori admits that she’ll miss him, but won’t forgive him.
Later, the couple goes on their first date since Dean’s return and they share a sweet and sob-tastic moment where Dean explains that he doesn’t want to leave because he finally feels alive, but he has to go to work.
Tori Guilt Trips Dean Over Taking His Job
Tori and Dean visit their therapist to talk about him leaving for Chopped Canada, and Tori says that they didn’t make this decision together. The shrink asks what is more important — his family or the job?
Tori continuously disses Dean for even contemplating leaving, after they now have a second chance. Tori threatens Dean: “You would come home, and I wouldn’t be here.”
Dean says that he can’t get out of it, and he needs to have a career. Tori backfires saying that if he’s gone, no one is there to take care of the kids. She even says that if Dean were out of the country and she were to get sick, no one could watch the kids and she would lose her job.
Hmm. So Dean can lose his job, but Tori can’t?
Later on, Tori says that she just wants Dean to “offer” to stay so that he chooses their family over his job.
After an entire episode full of guilt tripping, Dean decides that he won’t go to the show. At the point, Tori fesses up that she knows it’s right for Dean to take the gig. He’s worked so hard and he has to go.
Once she heard what she wanted, she backed off.
Dean says that leaving is bittersweet. “I’m leaving my wife and my family at a time that they really, really need me,” he says. “I’m a different person. I’m changing.”
HollywoodLifers, do you think that it was the right decision or Dean to take the Chopped Canada job? Should Tori support his career or is she right to be upset over him leaving?
