Elliot Rodger: UCSB Killer Planned To Murder Brother, 6 — Full Manifesto
Three days after Elliot murdered six people in a shooting/stabbing spree in Santa Barbara, his newly released 141-page manifesto revealed that he chillingly planned to murder his more popular little brother, 6, as well as his step-mother.
After videos Elliot Rodger made before killing six people in Isla Vista, Calif. were released on May 25, a 141-page manifesto has been posted online, revealing an even more shocking, disturbing look into the 22-year-old’s sick mind. In the chilling document, which he sent to friends and family before shooting up the UC Santa Barbara area, Elliot coldly writes about his plans to murder his family members, including his six-year-old step-brother, Jazz. Did he also plan to kill his mother and father, who were racing to find him when he began his killing spree?
Elliot Rodger: His Plans To Murder Six-Year-Old Brother
Elliot wanted to kill his little brother out of jealousy and fear that he would grow up to be more popular with girls than him. “It will be a hard thing to do, because I had really bonded with my little brother in the last year, and he respected and looked up to me,” Elliot wrote in his manifesto (read the whole thing here). “But I would have to do it. If I can’t live a pleasurable life, then neither will he! I will not let him put my legacy to shame.”
Elliot elaborated on how his jealousy of his step-brother was already sprouting — and he admitted that he had been planning to kill him since October 2013. “[My step-mom, Soumaya] began to boast that my brother was recently signed by an agent to act in T.V. commercials,” he wrote. It goes on, in disturbing detail:

She said that by the time he is my age, he will be a successful actor. I talked about how he was already so socially savvy for his age, and how I’ve always envied him for it. She told me he will never have any problems with girls, and will lose his virginity while he’s young.
I had to sit there and listen to the b**** tell me that my little brother will grow up enjoying the life I’ve always craved for, but missed out on. It is very unfair how some boys are able to live such pleasurable lives while I never had any taste of it, and now it has been confirmed to me that my little brother will become one of them. He will become a popular kid who gets all the girls. Girls will love him. He will become one of my enemies.
That was the day that I decided I would have to kill him on the Day of Retribution. I will not allow the boy to surpass me at everything, to live the life I’ve always wanted. It’s not fair that he has the chance to have a pleasurable life while I’ve been denied it.
UCSB Shooting: Elliot Rodger Also Targeted Step-Mother
The UCSB shooter went on to explain that to kill his little brother, he would also have to murder his step-mom because she would get in the way: “In order to kill him I would have to kill Soumaya too, but that will be easy. All I would need to do is think about all of the hurtful things she had said to me in that past as I plunge my knife into her neck.”
However, Soumaya and the six-year-old were not killed by Elliot before he went on this shooting rampage. It is not clear whether Elliot changed his mind or if a wrench was thrown into his plans.
Elliot also left his father, George Rodger, sister, Georgia, and mother out of his killing plans. He specifically wrote about how he wouldn’t have the stomach to kill his father.
The full manifesto is dark and disturbing in every way, and the window it provides into Elliot’s horribly damaged mind is hard to even comprehend. Hopefully this shocking document helps us move on from Elliot in some way though, and focus instead on the six lives he took, and the thousands more who he affected with his massacre.
