A deli’s security cameras captured the terrified reactions of the patrons inside when Elliot Rodger, 22, opened fire on the store during his May 23 killing spree. In the aftermath of the shooting 20-year-old Christopher Ross Michael-Martinez lay dead on the floor. He would be the last of three people killed during Elliot’s rampage through the university community of Isla Vista, California.

V Deli Mart was one of ten crime scene locations around the University of California at Santa Barbara campus, where Elliot left a total of six people dead, and 13 others injured.
Christopher, a University of California Santa Barbara student, was one of Rodger’s victims that night. Sadly, he was shot in the head while getting a snack in the same deli, which is located on Pardall Road in Goleta, California.
CNN obtained the video from the deli’s owner the day after the shooting. The security footage does not show the exact moment when a bullet struck Christopher, killing him, but it does show just how panicked and frightened everyone in the deli was at the time.
In the footage, several people are seen waiting at the cash register to check out. It was then that Elliot struck and fired multiple shoots off camera — sending the waiting patrons diving for cover.
You can also see one of the glass doors from the deli’s drink cooler shatter after being struck by a stray bullet.
