Hopefully Rihanna’s not the jealous type. Nicki Minaj just revealed that Drake wants to be on her new upcoming album — and since he’s had a crush on her for years, it could definitely be a flirty gesture!
After Drake sang about wanting to “marry” Nicki Minaj on “Miss Me,” he then admitted he had a serious crush on her — probably something Rihanna didn’t want to hear. However, now that they’re over with, Nicki spoke out about her new album, revealing that Drake actually submitted two songs that they could work together on!
Drake & Nicki Minaj’s Songs — Making Rihanna Jealous?
“So far he’s sent me two joints already for the album,” Nicki, 31, told On Air with Ryan Seacrest on May 22 about the possibility of having Drizzy on her next album The Pink Print. “And we’re still discussing them and still making some changes, but I don’t have an official Drake song yet. So, I can’t say that Drake will be on my album because I never want to just say stuff until it’s official. You know what I mean?”
Yes, Nicki, we do. But we’re not so sure Rihanna will understand. While she and Drake are currently in the “off” stage of their on-again off-again romance, we’re sure that it’ll get under her skin if he’s working with the girl who he once “fell in love with.”
Let us refresh your memory. In 2010, Drake released “Miss Me” and it spelled out his crush on Nicki.
“I love Nicki Minaj/ I told her I’d admit it/ I hope one day we get married just to say we f—ing did it/ And girl, I’m f—ing serious/ I’m with it if you with it/ ‘Cause your verses turn me on and your pants are mighty fitted,” Drake sang on his song.
“I’ve always really, actually, really had a crush on her, always really loved her, and she’s always just looked at me as, like, her little brother,” he added.
Nicki’s Album Includes A ‘Tragic Love Story’
Nicki released her first single from the album, “Pills N Potions” and said it’s all about a love story.
“I just kinda feel like while I was working on the album I started realizing how much I’ve changed. How people change. And how people come in and out of your life and I just felt like talking about that,” she said. “I had never really discussed that. I love that it has the [last] feeling of no matter what I still love. There’s still love there. And that’s pretty much what the song means to me. I think so many people can relate to that.”
There’s no release date yet on her album, but we’re totally hoping for a Drake/Nicki pair up. Do you think Rihanna will get mad? Let us know, HollywoodLifers!
