Christopher Ross Michael-Martinez was the third name released for the list of fatally wounded victims in the Elliot Rodger shooting spree, which took place on May 23 in Isla Vista, California.
University of California Santa Barbara student Christopher Ross Michael-Martinez, 20, ventured out of his home on the night of May 23, and headed to his local deli near campus. Sadly, he never made it back home. Santa Barbara Shooter: New UCSB Student Revealed Among Dead
Sheriff Bill Brown revealed in the press conference that Christopher was shot after Elliot left the black BMW SUV he was driving and entered the same local deli where Christopher was. The 20-year-old student was fatally shot in the torso and slumped to the deli floor.
A security camera captured the horrific images of Christopher’s death but the video has not been released due to its graphic nature. One of the images captured on film was of Christopher laying face down on the floor while blood pooled around his lifeless body, according to a CNN reporter who viewed the security footage.
The tight-knit university community where these crimes took place has been racked with grief. In an area that’s been labeled “paradise” because of its pristine location, residents are now faced with a nightmare. But that same nightmare has also lead to this community pulling together.
